Liverpool midfielder Lewis Koumas wants more first-team minutes under recently appointed manager Andoni Iraola. His summer tour opportunity comes after Iraola’s first match in charge saw Liverpool overcome Sunderland by 4-2 in Nashville. Sunderland, recently beaten by Liverpool, now appears as a strong loan option for Koumas. The young joined Sunderland’s Nashville base this week but may face tough competition for playing time from other club players. Iraola began his role on July 24, 2026, with Koumas one of several academy products pushing for bigger involvement in the first team.
