Bandai Namco unveiled the Mobile Suit Gundam RG model and the RG Project vision on July 23, 2026. Filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama will take the helm for the upcoming anime, planned to premiere in 2027. The project creates a brand-new Gundam universe, completely separate from prior canon. The new model is tied to the forthcoming Gundam Rogue Orbit initiative. Kamiyama is working to construct a new timeline for the franchise.
