Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell is drawing attention ahead of the Crimson Tide's Week 6 SEC home game against Georgia. Bryce Young and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart both called Russell a "new-age" quarterback, while former Alabama coach Nick Saban said Russell and Young are "very similar."

CBS Sports put the focus on the quarterback matchup between Russell and Georgia's Gunner Stockton ahead of the game. The side-by-side look between the two signal-callers has drawn a lot of talk among fans and analysts. Saban's comments in particular got noticed, given his deep knowledge of both programs.

Smart's use of the "new-age" label aligns with what Young also said about Russell's approach at the position. The phrase suggests Russell offers a modern skillset compared to more traditional quarterbacks. Rece Davis also spoke highly of him and called the Alabama-Georgia contest a "big" matchup in the SEC schedule, reinforcing how much is at stake for both teams.
