An amateur skygazer using Google Maps located a wide circular hollow in northern Quebec. Experts at Quebec’s geological survey verified it is a colossal meteorite impact crater formed around 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The scar on the landscape mirrors other confirmed craters and indicates a major ancient collision. Satellite images were mapped against field data to confirm the result.
