Chase Elliott hit the wall on Sunday at the Brickyard 400. He came home in 26th place. The vehicle sustained a hard impact but Elliott stated the damage stayed minor. Later, Alex Bowman announced he will retire after 2027. Bowman’s exit opens a spot that may be offered to Conner Zilisch in 2028. Elliott only spoke about Bowman after his own crash, and avoided any driver reshuffle talk.
